About TB-500

TB-500 is a synthetic, N-acetylated heptapeptide (Ac-LKKTETQ) corresponding to the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4. For research teams studying actin dynamics, cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue-repair signaling, it is a compact, well-defined tool derived from the active motif of the larger parent protein. Puritide Research supplies TB-500 as a high-purity, research-use-only material, synthesized for in vitro and animal-model work and backed by third-party-verified certificates of analysis so your data rests on consistent, documented quality.

What Is TB-500?

TB-500 is a synthetic heptapeptide with the sequence Ac-Leu-Lys-Lys-Thr-Glu-Thr-Gln (Ac-LKKTETQ). This sequence corresponds to residues 17-23 of thymosin beta-4, the segment identified in the literature as the actin-binding motif responsible for much of the parent protein's activity in cell migration and tissue repair. The N-terminal acetylation is intended to improve stability of the synthetic fragment.

In experimental settings, TB-500 is used to study G-actin sequestration, cytoskeletal dynamics, endothelial cell migration, angiogenesis, and wound-repair signaling. As a minimal active fragment, it lets researchers probe the actin-binding function of thymosin beta-4 without the full 43-residue protein.

Present understanding derives from in vitro assays and animal models. Findings should be interpreted within their experimental context and not treated as established outcomes. Puritide Research supplies TB-500 strictly for laboratory use; it is not approved for human or veterinary application.
